Guillaume Daoust, (2)
(1694 - 1784)

The Daousts had very close ties to the Pilons.  Anne Daoust, Guillaume's sister married Pierre Pilon on the same day - a double wedding!  Marie-Josephte Daoust married Mathieu Pilon on February 28th 1724 and Marie-Madeleine Daoust married Thomas Pilon on January 24th 1725.  Marie-Josephte and Mathieu, who inherited the Pilon house, resided there all their lives.  Their descendants lived here until the early 1800's.
Guillaume's married life was spent living on Lake St. Louis in the parish of Pointe Claire.  On January 30th 1714, the year before he married, he got a land concession on Cote St. Louis.  Under age, his father acted as the buyer for him.  A few years later (December 22nd 1730), he acquired another land concession nearby.  His sisters lived in the area.  His brother, Charles lived nearby on Isle Perrot. Louis, the youngest brother had property in Ste Anne and on Isle Perrot. Guillaume owned the double lots, #125 and #126 on the lakeshore.  Brentwood Ave. today would have been on these lots.  His neighbors at lot #124 were Pierre Pilon and Anne Daoust!   In 1735, Guillaume bought land on Cote St. Charles (now St. Charles boulevard).  In 1986, Daousts were still living on part of the land!!
Guillaume Daoust and Elisabeth Pilon were the parents of seven sons and five daughters.

Elisabeth died on October 29th 1766 at 70 years of age.  Guillaume passed away on January 19th 1784 at the ripe old age of 89!!

Death record of Guillaume Daoust, son who passed away two days previously. He was eighty nine years old.
Guiliaume Daoust, the son of Guillaume and Marie-Madeleine de Lalonde was born in Lachine on October 30th 1694.  He was their second child, first son.  Their first child, Marie  died in 1699 at eight years of age.  Guillaume spent part of his early years in Lachine.  Most likely due to the constant Iroquois threats, the family moved to Pointe-aux-Trembles in the east end of the island of Montreal (records show the family lived there from at least April 28th 1696 until November 15th 1699).  They later returned to the west island to Lachine then to St. Anne du Bout de l'ile (now Ste. Anne de Bellevue).  On January 7th 1715 at the age of 21, he married Elisabeth Pilon, the daughter of Antoine Pilon and Marie Anne Brunet of the parish of St. Joachim of Pointe Claire.  Elisabeth's parents had land quite close to the point!! They donated part of this land for the building of the church and presbytery.  Their house
still stands today in the old village of Pointe Claire on Lakeshore boulevard.
