The ruins of the fort of Senneville and the LeBer windmill

Le fort de Senneville a été construit par Jacques LeBer vers 1686 et fut détruit par Benedict Arnold en 1776. Les ruines de ce dernier ainsi que celle du moulin à vent qui était situé sur la colline derrière le fort existe toujours. Le moulin à gauche du fort fut construit après le moulin LeBer et fut en fonction pour une courte periode de temps. Cependant aucune vestige de ce moulin ne persite aujourd'hui. Le fort protégeait la region du Bout de L'Ile et était surement connu de la famille Daoust.  Le moulin à vent était utilisé par tous les cultivateurs de la région.

Fort Senneville was built by Jacques LeBer around 1686 and was destroyed by Benedict Arnold in 1776 (The ruins still stand as well as the LeBer windmill on the hill behind the fort). The windmill to the left of the fort was the second one in the area and was only in operation for a few years. Today, nothing remains of this second windmill. The fort protected the area of Bout de L'Ile and was undoubtedly known to the Daoust family. The nearby windmill was used by all the local farmers.
